Dr. Jamuna has dedicated herself towards the upliftment of the needy and uncared and not only people lacking
of financial assets but also the ones lacking the morality and discipline
of this once lived life, the ones lacking spirituatism and honesty, above
all one lacking knowledge and humanity.To meet the health care of the down
trodden,
Dr. Jamuna has commenced a free clinic which provides free consultation
and free medicines at her native place Anakaputhur near Chennai. This free
clinic is visited by eminent doctors every Wednesdays and Saturdays who
also share with Dr. Jamuna the essence of caring for the uncared. This hospital
functions under the Dr. Anjeneya Medical and Educational Trust for which
she is the Trustee and her son Dr. V. Murali Krishnan, as the Administrative
Trustee. Every op counts upto 120 patient mostly old aged and daily wages
workers from the nearby leather factories and weaving cottages. Cases seen
here are also referred to major hospitals for critical/surgical management.
There are always mass feeding and providing dothi saries to the aged twice
every year especially on Death Aniversaries of Dr. Jamuna parents. Dr. Anjeneyalu
and Dr. Subburathinamal, who once cared and live with these people of Anakaputhur.
Hours of the experience gained through her practice for the past 18 years,
in order to share the knowledge with the common man, Dr. Jamuna has borught
out a monthly magazine on Medical Awareness named : Mooligai Khuzandhaigal
(Herbal
Children) containg chapters on infertility, child bearing, causes and cure
in a simple way explaining with fine illustrations which can be understood
by a lay man. It also contains articles on AIDS Awareness, Family Planning,
Sexually transmitted Diseases, Adoloscent problems. Articles on the value
of the Indian Heritage and Culture is given preference, Bearing her as the
Editor, she creates an awareness and stresses on the importance of disciplined
life towards the betterment of human race. The books throws light on false
propagandas of various unqualified medical practitioners and prevents the
common man from being cheated.
Dr. Jamuna stresses on the importance of good behaviour and
discipline not only in her writing and practice, but also by personally
participating in debates, elocution contests, awareness programes and fucntions
organised for the youths. She strongly believes that youths are the people
to be fed with the values of disciplined life, morality and with the values
of the Culture and Heritage of our soil.
Thirsting to create an awareness of the Siddha system of medicine to the
common man she works tirelessly. She has written awareness articles emphasising
on the nil side effects of the system in international magazines like the
American based India World Wide, Aside, Eves Touch and Womens
Era, along with dailies like the Hindu and the Indian Express. It includes
dailies in Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. She has also given programes to
the Doodarshans Nalavazhvu episode and also to the SUNTV and
AIR. In all she stresses the importance of a principled living and the magnificence
of the system.
Dr. Jamuna has taken up challenging cases like curing Uterine Fibroids,
Fallopian tubal blocks, Ovarian cysts just by herbal medication and not
through surgery. She insists on non surgical management where the affected
avoids the post operative hazards like, infection, etc., and other complications.
